// General
MeridAx is a specialist payment intermediary — not a direct processor. We sit between you and our global network of acquiring banks and processors, matching, negotiating, integrating, and managing banking relationships on your behalf. We are not a bank and we do not process transactions ourselves.
We work with merchants of all risk profiles — low, medium, and high-risk — across every major vertical including gaming, crypto, forex, nutraceuticals, travel, e-commerce, financial services, and more. We also serve card issuers, fintechs, and neobanks launching card programmes.
We have active banking relationships covering Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Namibia and more), Asia Pacific (Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Japan), Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Cyprus), Western Europe, the UK, Middle East, Latin America, and the Caribbean — 180+ countries in total.
Most merchants are matched to a banking partner and live within 72 hours of submitting a complete application. Card issuer programme setups typically take 4 to 8 weeks end-to-end — compared to 12 to 18 months building bank relationships directly from scratch.
Previous declines or difficult processing history does not automatically disqualify you. We have successfully placed many merchants who were rejected by mainstream acquirers. Transparency about your history helps us find the right match faster.
MeridAx operates as a payment intermediary and consulting business. All payment processing is conducted through our regulated banking and processor partners, each of which holds the appropriate licences for their operating jurisdictions. We operate to the highest compliance standards including full KYC, AML, and GDPR compliance.
// Rates & Fees
Our primary income is a basis point spread between what we negotiate with the acquiring bank and what we pass to you. In some cases we also charge a one-time connection fee. Every cost is agreed in writing before we begin. No hidden fees, ever.
Yes, consistently. Our aggregated volume across hundreds of merchants gives us genuine pricing leverage that individual merchants simply cannot achieve. We regularly negotiate MDR rates significantly below what clients were previously paying — often by 0.3% to 0.8% or more.
No. We commit to full fee transparency before any engagement begins. You will receive a written proposal showing all costs — the MDR we negotiate, any spread we retain, and any one-time fees. If we have not disclosed it in writing, we do not charge it.
// Technical & Integration
No. One of the core benefits of MeridAx is that you connect once and access our entire global network. Switching acquirers, adding redundancy, or entering new markets requires no re-integration from your development team. We handle all of the banking-side technical work.
Yes. 3DS 2.1 and 2.2 (EMV 3DS) are available through our processor connections. 3DS2 improves approval rates while reducing fraud, and is mandatory in PSD2/SCA regulated markets. We also connect card issuers to ACS infrastructure for compliant cardholder authentication.
We support 135+ currencies across our global acquiring bank network. Multi-currency settlement and dynamic currency conversion are both available depending on the acquirer and market.
Yes. 150+ alternative payment methods are available through our network — including bank transfers, SEPA, e-wallets, BNPL, QR codes, mobile money (M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money), and cryptocurrency payment gateways. Availability depends on region and merchant vertical.
// Compliance & Security
Standard KYC requirements include: Certificate of Incorporation, registered address, beneficial ownership details (25%+ owners), identification documents for directors and UBOs, and bank statements. Higher-risk businesses may require additional documentation. We guide you through the exact requirements for your specific application.
We provide full chargeback management including pre-dispute alerts via Ethoca and Verifi (to prevent chargebacks before they are formally filed), professional representment with evidence compilation, and ongoing ratio monitoring to keep you well below Visa and Mastercard scheme thresholds.
Yes. MeridAx handles all personal and business data in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection law. We never sell client data to third parties. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. All banking partners are PCI DSS compliant.
